Placing calls via satellite can mean facing numerous challenges: verifying equipment protocols, tracking area codes, accessing international ground stations, monitoring satellite signals and, of course, maintaining the link between an aircraft, vehicle or vessel and an orbiting satellite. All aspects must be managed to successfully complete a call.
That all changed in 1997. Thanks to the cutting edge insight and engineering skill of Jim Jensen, Satcom Direct Founder and CEO, placing calls via satellite has never been easier. All you need is a Global One Number™!
What is GON™?
Satcom Direct’s patented Global One Number™ or GON™ service provides a reliable solution for placing ground to mobile unit voice, fax and high-speed data calls via satellite.
GON™ is a 10-digit number customized for and assigned to an aircraft, vessel or any other mobile unit and begins with either a 651 or 321 area code.

How does GON™ work?
Contact Satcom Direct at 321-777-3000 to sign up for your GON™.
- Ground to Air: Simply dial the aircraft’s GON™ and you will be connected within seconds. After dialing the 10-digit GON™, users will hear a voice prompt which offers a menu of choices for connection.
- Air to Ground: Dial any number in the world from your satcom phone.
- AutoDetect Fax: Dial the GON™ and press send on the fax machine to automatically route the call.
